The Black Alliance for Educational Options is seeking a Communication
Intern.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INTERNSHIP

The role of the communications intern will be to assist the Director of Communications with the everyday tasks associated with communicating BAEO's mission. Those tasks include, but are not limited to, the publication and distribution of the BAEO newsletter, regular updates of business matters to board members and actively relaying our message to members of the print and broadcast media.

To do this we are looking for someone who possesses a strong, conversational - yet persuasive - style of writing, a personality indicative of someone who is at home interacting with others and enjoys the challenge of meeting deadlines.

Above all the person chosen to fill this role will be an advocate of matters related to school choice.

This person should be willing to travel.

REQUIREMENTS

St. Louis Post-Dispatch Summer 2005 Internship Program
Thirteen-week, paid internships in all areas of the newsroom are available on the Metro, Business, Sports, Features, Design, Graphics, Photography and Copy Editing staffs. The salary is $393 per week. Applicants must be a senior or graduate student enrolled in a degree program at the time the internship begins. Students also must have taken basic journalism courses as well as any specialized courses in the students' area of interest. To apply for a reporting or copy editing internship, send: six clips; an autobiographical essay; a resume; and the names, telephone numbers and titles of four references. To apply for other internships, submit: a portfolio of work (20 images for photography); an autobiographical essay; a resume; and the names, telephone numbers and titles of four references. Applicants also must submit official transcripts, but those may be sent under separate cover. The application deadline is Nov. 15, 2004.
