NABJ is providing an all-day training session for professional chapter leaders during the upcoming UNITY convention in Washington D.C. The day’s itinerary will feature lectures, panels and workshops to help chapters improve various aspects of planning, from fundraising to grooming new leaders and providing diversity advocacy. The event is open to all chapter leaders, not only presidents. Student chapter leaders are also encouraged to attend.


Tentative Itinerary:

8:30 a.m. (Tentative) Refreshments
9:15 a.m. Welcome
9:30 a.m. Session One (Fundraising and Programming)
10:30 a.m. Session Two (Advocacy)
11:30 a.m. Guest Speaker (to be determined)
12:00 p.m. Lunch on your own
1 p.m. Session Three (Improving Membership/Burn Out/Succession)
2:00 p.m. Breakout Groups (Problem Solving)
3 p.m. Session Four (Town Hall-styled Sound Off)
3:30 p.m. Reception with NABJ President and Board of Directors
4:30 p.m. Adjournment for UNITY Welcome Reception
